From One Big Idea to a Growing Movement.
It started with a book. It became a mission. Clinical Brainiacs is turning years of research, clinical insight and personal conviction into lasting change for children everywhere.
The Book That Started It All.
White NoiseβDark Impact
Beverly Hansen, R.N., M.B.A.
In an age of endless gadgets and digital parenting hacks, white noise has quietly claimed its place as a modern
pacifier β a mechanical hum lulling infants into sleep while promising serenity for weary parents. But beneath this
comforting drone lies a deeper concern: Are we trading developmental richness for artificial convenience?
Drawing on 40 years of nursing and clinical experience, Beverly Hansen challenges the mainstream embrace of
white noise and asks the question no one else is asking: What is this doing to our babies' brains?
Backed by research from leading neuroscientists at UCSF, Stanford, Rutgers and the American Academy of Pediatrics,
White NoiseβDark Impact makes the case that the sounds surrounding a baby are not just background β they are
the architecture of future cognition, emotional balance and language development. What a child hears in their first
years shapes who they become.

Why a Book Wasn't Enough.
White NoiseβDark Impact began as a personal act of courage. Beverly Hansen watched her own grandchildren surrounded by the constant hum of white noise machines and, as a registered nurse with four decades of clinical experience, she knew what that sound was doing. She spoke up β and it cost her. Family fracture is a real price to pay for telling the truth.
But Beverly made a decision, the risk of staying silent was greater than the cost of speaking up. She wrote the book. She went on podcasts. She took the stage. And now she's building the infrastructure to make sure no parent has to stumble across this information by accident.
Clinical Brainiacs was built on that conviction. The book created the foundation. The nonprofit is building the movement β one family, one clinician, one community at a time.
